About the Artist
Mark H. Yahiro was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended the Art Institute of Chicago. He was classically trained at the American Academy of Art in Chicago in the early 1980’s where he focused on portrait painting. During his time at art school, Mark caught the technology bug. He completed his studies at the University of Illinois, where he received a B.S. in Software Engineering with a focus on computer graphics. After college, Mark was hired at AT&T Bell Laboratories where he worked on one of the first graphical operating systems. Mark’s desire to pursue his artistic roots led him to secure the first commercial license of the Mosaic internet browser. Following his technology career, Mark was the President and CEO of Pulse Entertainment, a technology company focusing on 3D animation. At Pulse, Mark helped launch the first web broadcast as well as NBC’s network debut of Virtual Jay for the “Tonight Show,” starring Jay Leno. In addition, the company also launched many award winning interactive animation with Warner Brothers, The Muppets, Electronic Arts and many other popular characters. In early 2004 Mark went through a life-changing ordeal. Mark believes his ability to see colors were enhanced and almost tactile. Starting in 2005, Mark has picked up his brushes, again, to capture life and its beauty… |
